There is possibly only one explanation to the riddle of why do they kill off superheroes in comic books? One answer might be because the originator of the superhero has himself died. The question poses a riddle since a superhero might have the power of immortality and not only invulnerability. That would mean that only those superheroes who are only invulnerable to the usual consequences that non superheroes would face are killed of in comic books. If someone is going to stand out in a world dominated by Batman, they had better have an amazing back-story to bring them to life. The character of Batgirl has been filled by various characters throughout the years, but which claims the best back-story for the heroine?
When she was first created, Batgirl was the niece of Batwoman. She was meant as a counter-part to Robin and maybe even a love interest for him. However, she was dropped early on.Didn-t catch that? This explains it.
